Are you interested in collectible action figures? It can be a wonderful hobby, passion, or business. Those wonderful comic book and movie heroes will come back to you.

First perhaps we can define an action figure. They are usually between 3 inches to 11 inches. Usually there is no movement as they are to be displayed and not played with.

You may have been a fan of the Star War series so you may want to start your collection there because of your familiarity with the characters. If your focus is on one collection you will not be tempted to buy a Batman action figure today and then a Spider-Man tomorrow. Another way that a collection can start is to choose all of the ones that you loved as a child. This could end up being very costly but very rewarding for you.

You may want to only collect the figures where the workmanship is very fine. These figures are beautiful pieces of art. With this decision you would be collecting only specific pieces.

You may want to get some help in deciding on the first figure to buy. Research as much as you can by reading news items and blogs that discuss action figures. You may even find something that focuses on your figure.

Where do you buy the figures? The internet is a very good place to start. You may get some information that will be helpful to you when you go to toy stores looking for the one that you have decided on. Someone in your neighborhood may bee moving or cleaning the attic. This is often a prime source of some of those gems that we see. You may also want to visit the Saturday flea market or thrift shops. There are times when an ideal opportunity presents itself.

The next step is displaying your collection. You could try a glass case that is enclosed to give them protection. Alternately you could put them on a shelf or bookcase displaying them in their best action position.

Maintenance is a key word. You do not want your figures to be damaged by the sun, heat, humidity or dust. The action figure may be indestructible in the movie or comic book but it is not indestructible on your shelf or in storage. As for anything that you want clean regular maintenance is the important.

If you have mint in package figures then these need care also. The package requires care because it was never made to last but to be opened and thrown away. Again heat and sun are problems that you must be wary of.

If you have a good collection and have taken care of it then insuring it might be an option. Protecting your investment is important. You may think that your present insurance will cover your collection but it may not. Speak with your insurance agent and it might be possible to get a floater for your collectibles. There is actually specialized insurance to cover collectibles and you may want to look into that.

Looking to find the best place to get action figures, then you should visit www.action-toy.com and you’ll find the best deals on collectible action figures for you.

If you are looking to begin collecting Michael Jackson memorabilia, it can be a bit overwhelming. Like any collection, what you can buy will depend on your budget and your own personal interest.

Without wanting to sound too morbid, the value of signed pictures and other items often goes up at this time. A day after the death of Eval Knievel, a signed framed photograph almost doubled in price. Sadly, this also means opportunists can cash in, claiming authenticity.

The first thing is to check who is selling the piece. Many internet auction sites have reputation ratings, giving you a good guide as to who can be trusted to deliver the goods. Another key thing is to check for authenticity watermarks from a trusted source, for example ABTAL.

With any collection, the question of authenticity will inevitably come up. If you are purchasing from an online dealer, be very careful. A certificate of authenticity is meaningless unless it is backed by an official body like ABTAL. Some celebrities only use certain licensed dealers, often adding to the value of their signatures.

Dedicated signatures are only of personal value, so if you have one keep hold it yourself. Cut signatures are something to be careful of as well. These are signatures taken from another source, like a dedication or a letter. Another thing to be wary of is pencil signatures. These are actually worth purchasing, as they are less likely to fade over time and will hold their value!

Michael Jackson has created numerous kinds of dedication, such as cross stitch patterns or stones with his picture on them. There is a whole variety of purses and handbags, with designs that cover his entire career.

Furthermore, you should ask what the return policy is on any products. If they are confident of the authenticity of the products, they should offer a lifetime guarantee on the purchase.

The good thing with purchasing Michael Jackson memorabilia is that you have a wealth of knowledge to call on. As well as licensed dealers, there are any number of forums and catalogs dedicated to collectors, who can help point you in the right direction. Most crucially, they can give you guidance on what is a fair price for what you want to buy.

The man himself would probably have been a bit amused by this, especially given the rumors that he had purchased the skeletal remains of John Merrick, better known to people as the Elephant Man. This has never been confirmed as fact, though it adds to the legend.

Perhaps this is why people seek to create collections like this, as a tribute to a performer both of his time and before it. In many ways, the true value is that in the years after his death his work is still revered by his fans and whatever the item it means something to them.

Before you buy into Michael Jackson memorabilia or signatures on the internet be sure to check out Mark’s webpage and authentic Michael Jackson Memorabilia, and Michael Jackson Autograph

Celebrity autographs make great gifts for any fan. What would it be like to meet your favorite celebrity and actually get their autograph? For most people that are not able to meet their favorite celebrity, you can purchase authentic autographed items online from reputable dealers.

The only problem with this is that sometimes you might pay for something that isn’t authentic. This is why it’s important for you to make sure you’re buying an actual collectible and not a forgery or a fake. From posters to CD’s, pictures, clothing, and more, celebrities sign just about anything, and you can add it to your collection for a nominal cost.

Tons of people sell autographs on eBay everyday but only a handful of authentic dealers exist. Thousands of celebrity autographs are listed online from all over the world. eBay is a great market place online to buy or sell autographs along with offering great service and being able to purchase that special one of a kind item.

There are also many other auction sites and websites that offer memorabilia, autographs, and other fine collectibles. Always make sure that you verify the legitimacy of the seller or dealer before buying anything. It would feel very hurtful to purchase a signed celebrity autograph and only find out its fake.

Always keep an open mind when purchasing autographs. It is best that you purchase from authorized dealers and collectors, but always be aware and do your research.

There are many people that specialize in celebrity autographs and other collectibles, and you can even consult handwriting analysts for verification before you buy. No matter what you decide to do, just be sure that whatever you buy is worth whatever you’re investing.

If you have an item to sell, it’s a good idea to have it validated somehow so that your buyers know that the celebrity autographs are legitimate. Again, you can consult with brokers and other dealers to get a professional evaluation of your item before it sells.

When sellers or buyers have their items authenticated, that will bring out the trust when dealing with signed items. Having an autograph signed by for favorite celebrity is always priceless, but if you do decide to purchase or sell and autograph you may want to consider some of these tips.

When you’re out shopping, take a look around you sometime. Almost every retailer holds “toy sales” quite often, whether they are a traditional brick-and-mortar store or whether they sell online. Be careful, though, because these may not really be sales. If a particular store is holding a sale every week, is it really a sale? You might say so, because retailers claim so, but it’s up to you to determine whether or not the price you pay is a good deal — and that’s true whether it’s a sale or not. It can be hard to determine, especially if you don’t visit toy stores a lot.

Let’s say, for example, that a particular sale is, “Everything 50% off.” That looks good to begin with, but perhaps the retailer simply raised his prices by 50%, and then slashed them by 50%. In that case, your “50% off” sale is really selling items at the original prices, but misrepresented as being on sale. When you’re paying the original price, you’re not paying a “sale price.”

Another way stores get you to think you’re getting a great deal is by saying that all items are buy one, get one 50% off or buy one get one free. This works very similar to the previous method because all they need to do is raise the prices and they’ll still be getting the same amount of money, but you’ll be thinking it’s a great deal because you’re getting an item for “free”. Depending on how much you’re paying, that may not be entirely true.

Another trick retailers use is the “Buy X items for X dollars,” say “Buy four items for five dollars,” or something similar. However, if the original price of those items was $.95 each, you’re paying more, not less, for this “sale.” Watch for these tricks and don’t fall for them, because you actually end up spending more instead of less for these “sales” than you would have if you had bought an item at original price.

Toy sales can be pretty hard to sort out, but you don’t have to fall for these money stealing tactics. There are honest retailers out there who do have good sales that are legitimate, because they really are slashing prices below original retail. Be careful, though, and watch out for stores that change their prices frequently so that you never know what the actual cost of an item is.

The best way to know that the sale item you’re getting is really a sale item is to compare prices online before you shop — even if you’re going to shop in a brick-and-mortar store. If you shop someplace a lot, you’ll begin to take note of how they price their items and whether or not those items really do go on “sale.” It’s up to you as the consumer to know when you’re getting a good deal and when you’re not; you have to do your homework.

Matt Wilson, an avid toy collector since he was 12 years old, wrote this article. He knows a lot about toys because he has a large collection of RC Vehicles, Construction Toys, Action Figures etc. Through the years, he’s found various techniques to find the best toy bargains, wholesale toys, toys clearance deals etc. any where on the net. Start saving and getting top quality toys now!

All kids love new toys, whether they come on Christmas, birthdays, or other special occasions. They can get pretty expensive, though, especially as children grow up. Taking advantage of toy sales can save you significant money on these types of purchases. They happen more often than you might realize, too. You don’t know about them, likely, unless you shop a lot.

How do you find out about these toy sales? Subscribe to a newspaper local to you. You can subscribe to a daily paper or just the Sunday edition, but the Sunday edition is the one that really has the ads for toy sales. The edition it comes out on Thanksgiving, too, will be able to tell you about any sales that come up on the most important shopping day of the year, Black Friday.

Another thing you can do is to subscribe to the newsletters or mailing lists of your favorite online stores, so that you’ll first know about special offers and discounts before anyone else does. Some retailers even give special discounts to subscribers that they don’t to the general public. It’s easy and free to subscribe, but just make sure the company you’re dealing with isn’t going to sell your e-mail address. Whether or not they will be selling your information will usually be visible in a nondisclosure; you can simply opt out of this, in most cases, so that you don’t get inundated with offers.

Facebook is another way online retailers and companies are taking their business to a new level. Pages are created specifically for companies; if you’re a Facebook member, just go to their page and bookmark it; you can also indicate that you “like” it. You’ll receive updates as they post. Although these pages used to be called fan pages, now they’re simply Facebook pages like any others. This should give you advance notice of toy sales that may be happening at favorite stores, and you’ll probably also get special offers on occasion.

Another thing you can do is to call local retailers to find out about toy sales. Retailers will gladly tell you about any special offers, or any sales they’re having. They may not be able to tell you everything, but you can ask about specific items, so that they can tell you whether or not they’re on sale. If they refuse, you can always ask to speak with the manager.

Toy sales are certainly out there and they happen more often than you might think. Companies know how much children like toys, and they try to make it as simple as it can be for parents to buy their children these things. In addition, companies absolutely need to have toy sales occasionally to clear out old inventory and make room for new. Take advantage of these things by looking for sales and special offers. They’re out there and you just have to look for them.

Matt Wilson, a toy collector since he was just a kid, wrote this article. You know that he knows what he’s talking about because he has a huge collection of toys such as RC Vehicles, Construction Toys, Action Figures etc. Over the years, he’s discovered numerous ways to find the best toy bargains, wholesale toys, toys clearance deals etc. any where on the net.

Coin collecting is a hobby that will never go out of style. One of the things I fondly recall doing with my pa when I was young was looking through his collection of favorite coins that he kept in a metal tobacco tin. He would show me each coin and tell me the story behind it.

My Dad particularly cherished his silver half dollars that pictured John F. Kennedy especially as he had once campaigned for him when he was in college. Dad’s coins were all special to him for a variety of reasons. I don’t know whether the collection was worth an awful lot, but I still remember the pleasure he took in those coins.

In 2006 the United States Mint has issued a highly singular coin, the 2006 American Gold Buffalo. The Gold Buffalo is redolent of the buffalo nickel that was originally minted in 1913 and is highly cherished by today’s collectors. If you are looking to invest in coins, the gold buffalo is possibly the one to attain. Even if you are not a coin collector, the gold buffalo is a brilliant investment.

The beautiful gold buffalo is unique in part because it is the first 24-karat gold coin ever to be minted in the US. The front side shows a buffalo in full profile. The reverse side shows an Indian’s head in profile. The denomination, $50, is imprinted on the front. Also imprinted are the weight of the coin, 1 ounce, and its quality, .9999 fine.

The gold buffalo coins are not in circulation, but they are available online and are ready to be shipped. Any collector would be pleased to own a gold buffalo. With its sentimental nod to the famous 1913 buffalo nickel and its distinction of being the only U.S.-minted gold coin in history, the gold buffalo represents a important addition to any collection.

Steve Collins is an author and coin collector. He is very fond of the Gold Buffalo he cherisheshis collection of gold buffalo coins

If you are not a memorabilia specialist it may be hard to prove the authenticity of autographed guitars. There are ways to find out the legitimacy of a signed guitar if youre not sure yourself. Methods can be taken depends on your position in the memorabilia world.

If you do own a signed guitar or other autograph memorabilia pieces and want to prove to people or possible buyers that you item is legit, there are plenty of third party authenticators and professional autograph specialists that can assist you and provide authenticity documentation for your item Also if you are deciding to purchase a signed guitar or other autographs, you need to be sure that youre buying from a reputable autograph specialist that has proven documentation.

If you own autographed guitars and want to authenticate them, either for your own personal knowledge or to sell, there are many resources for you. You can contact a dealer or guitar memorabilia broker, and they will help you to validate the legitimacy of the signature(s) that you have. You can also provide proof including photos of the signing process or a document signed by a memorabilia professional or other professional that you’ve acquired on your own.

Another way to have your item authenticated is to send it to a professional handwriting expert that deals with signatures.

Music artists will likely sign albums, CDs, and posters throughout their career and these signatures usually require less effort to obtain. To get a guitar signed by an artist may be more difficult to obtain.

Many music artists deny signing a guitar if you are not a record label or charitable organization. This difficulty is outweighed by the fans trying to obtain the perfect memorabilia signed item, like a guitar and has created a whole other market of fake autographs and signed guitars ran by scam artists selling them for thousands of dollars.

There are many fake autographs in the world and its necessary to take the proper actions and research for obtaining the authenticity and legitimacy for the special memorabilia piece you may consider purchasing. Always buy from a reputable dealer or auction house and do the research on that person to see if they are honest and have nothing to hide.

However, if you find an individual selling a signed guitar, you can purchase the item from them, but only after consulting an expert to verify the legitimacy of the signature(s). Often, the seller will have some sort of documentation to prove the signature is real, but this isn’t always the case. If you’re going to spend thousands of dollars on a collectible, you need to make sure it’s worth the investment.

Before you buy any signed guitars or other fine autographs collectibles, make sure you check out Mark Turgeon’s site on autographs, and signed collectibles
