And you could join one of the many collectors clubs. You would receive a membership card, a collectors pin, a binder for newsletters, and there was a private tour of the birth place of these dolls.
And other events and conventions were also held through the years.

You would still be able to choose the eye and hair color, skin tone, and they still come with a birth certificate with a chosen name and date of birth.
