0 What’s In A Fancy Disney Pin?

People of all ages and all walks of life have grown to love the Disney characters the Walt Disney line has produced. From the great black mouse we have all now called Mickey and the entire gang to the other productions such as the Disney Princesses such as Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc. The newer productions have become popular to kids and adults alike.

Much like all great memories, people have the tendency to look for something to grab hold to, for them to be able to constantly be reminded of the great characters and stories which they have all grown to love. The Disney Company has put this thought to great weight; thinking about ways on how they can help fans have something to remember their favorite Disney production by means of simple Disney Pins.

The Disney line has created a number of editions and series for their Disney Pins. These are mostly available in Disney stores and among other places which carry their line; however for those who wish to have only the greatest authentic pieces, there are a few things one must know.

There are a large number of pins that have been manufactured and sold and are now owned and traded by fans apart from those which are still locked away in the Disney archive vault. There are also a few things one should know about the pins for them to properly be able to identify the authentic ones.

One of the most important markings of the pins produced by Disney is the Back Stamps. These markings contain the most important pieces of information on each pin which contains the manufacturer, manufacturing date and place, copyright information, series number or the edition size, etc.

There are also a variety of pins which are made from different materials and designs; some of these Disney Pins are made from die cast which were made from brass zinc alloy and uses high grade hand engraved dies which provide a three dimensional image. There are also those which are called Dangle Pins which is much like a regular pin though it has an extended base which hangs from one or multiple chains or loops. There are two others which are greatly regarded for its features as novelty and trading pins; these are the lenticular pins which has two or more designs which are visible when the pin is slightly tilted. The other is the Light-up pin, from its name lights up and flashes when it is activated.

Some of the other kinds of pins are the slider pins which are equipped with a movable piece which can slide forward and back on the pin’s base. A spinner pin on the other hand is one which is equipped with a mechanism which enables a part of the pin to make a 360 degree spin thus showing the surface constantly.

And much like most things, Disney manufacturers have pins which they refer to as the Retired Pins; these pins are those which have ceased production and distribution to give way to other new prints and designs to market and collect.
